Sales of condominiums in the Toronto new home market has risen steadily in the last ten years and by 2008 reached majority of purchases. 62% of those 18-24 who purchased a home bought a condominium, as they represent low entry price, downtown living, low maintenance and easy resale. Similar reasons plus downsizing attracted purchasers over 55, with about 40% of home buyers.
